Why Should You Volunteer?
What is the Application Process?
The application process is three-steps that will be coordinated after application via email. Applicants will be contacted to set up an interview that can take place over the phone or at the Discovery Center of Idaho. After the interview, individuals may be invited to a background check. Once cleared via background check, applicants will be invited to begin the orientation process and their experience in the Volunteer Program.
What is the Scheduling Process?
Our flexible scheduling provides two-hour shifts that can accommodate your needs. Additional opportunities after hours and during seasonal holidays may also be available.
What is Required to Apply?
Applicants must be at least 14 years of age with a reliable form of transportation. An interview must complete and background check will be performed for those who are applicable. All communication and information will be shared via email after the starting application process.
What are the Time Expectations?
To be an “active” volunteer, one two-hour shift per month. For a “seasonal” volunteer, one two-hour shift per six months.
What Kind of Responsibilities Come with the Position?
The main responsibilities are to interact with the guest by enhancing their learning experience, answering questions and maintaining the quality of exhibits. You will have the opportunity to help the community learn with hands-on exploration and discovery.
