Volunteer
Join Our Team of Volunteers!
Are you an enthusiastic learner, educator, or interested in continuing to learn about science, technology, engineering and math? We are looking for volunteers interested in helping six to twelve hours a month on a regular day and time that fits your schedule. This application window is open through November 2026.
We are Looking for Individuals Who
Encourage diversity and inclusion
Represent the Discovery Center of Idaho and our mission both in and beyond our galleries
Support growth of STEM understanding in the community
Volunteer Information
Our volunteer opportunities are two hours long each and range from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The tasks will consist of standing for the two hours and providing guidance, knowledge and support to the community as they enjoy the Center. Volunteering provides the opportunity for an individual to rapidly increase their knowledge in a variety of topics while influencing the community around them. Our volunteers are teachers, stay-at-home parents, students, retired engineers and more. You don't have to be an expert to be a volunteer—if you are passionate about STEM, and love talking with and helping others, we'd love to have you.
At this time, we are unable to accommodate court-ordered community service, and this opportunity does not qualify for court-ordered hours. For more information and to request an application, email dcivolunteer@dcidaho.org.
